Apply for PBMF Scholarship by Dec. 28

The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation is pleased to announce a  scholarship award for current college students. The essay-based competition is open to any graduate of PBMF’s Frank Bolden Urban Journalism Workshop who is studying journalism, communications or another media-related field in college.
Entry requirements: Write an essay describing the role that black media can, or should, play in the dissemination of news. The essay should be 300 to 500 typewritten words and must be submitted by midnight EST Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. Submit the document as a Microsoft Word file attachment in an email to scholarship@pbmf.org.
Include an addendum page with the entrant’s name, mailing address, phone number(s), email address, college, year in college, major field of study, and current cumulative grade point average.
PBMF will award a $500 scholarship to the winner by Dec. 31. It’s possible that more than one winner will be chosen. Direct all inquiries to scholarship@pbmf.org.
