“American Heroes: The Homewood Project” meeting

June 24 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Aspiring and professional photographers are invited to a planning meeting for “American Heroes: The Homewood Project,” a photo series that will feature black males making a difference in the Homewood neighborhood.

The meeting will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24 at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA.

Attendees will discuss what the photo series should include, where to find stories, possible partnerships, etc.  PBMF will provide pizza.

RSVP for the meeting by June 22 at PBMFAmericanHeroes.eventbrite.com.

The photo series will be displayed on social media, at an exhibit in Homewood this summer and at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in New Orleans in August.

“American Heroes” is the second part of PBMF’s Black Male Media Project, which launched June 10.

The Black Male Media Project is a nationwide effort launched by the National Association of Black Journalists to inspire, support and develop training and mentorship opportunities for black men working in journalism and media and those that aspire to do so.

PBMF is among 22 chapters of the association that are participating the project nationwide.
